Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (FHCI) is looking for a dynamic and experienced board-certified surgeon to join our Surgical Oncology program in Orlando, FL.  Primarily focusing on pancreatic and hepatobiliary surgery, this surgeon would join a multi-disciplinary cancer team with a large established patient population base to serve.  Fellowship training in Surgical Oncology and/or HPB Surgery required. The Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children is looking for an exceptional and dynamic, fellowship-trained pediatric neurosurgeon to join our program in Orlando, Florida.  Ideal candidate would have several years of experience as well as specific interests in movement disorders, epilepsy, and DBS.  

The hospital has eight dedicated neurosurgical operating suites including a 3T intraoperative MRI and a 64 slice intraoperative CT.  As part of Florida Hospital for Children, we have a 20 bed dedicated neuroscience inpatient unit with an embedded 8 bed epilepsy monitoring unit which will grow to 24 beds in a newly renovated neuroscience floor.  Diagnostic facility includes a state-of-art 3T MRIs, PET, SPECT, MEG center, and Gamma Knife.     

The physician would work in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team including pharmacology, psychology, pediatric neurology, pediatric radiology and pediatric epilepsy. The goal is to become a leading best practice model that is research based, data driven and led by experts.  We are the longest continual member of COG in the Central Florida community.

Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Surgery, Thoracic

Florida Hospital is looking for a Thoracic Surgery leader with a strong background and experience in lung and esophageal oncological surgery.   This new leader would work in conjunction with our Florida Hospital Cancer Institute and our Florida Hospital Cardiovascular and Transplant Institutes.  Clinical focus would involve thoracic oncology surgery as well as benign thoracic conditions such as esophageal disorders, lung parenchymal diseases (LVRS and diagnostic procedures), airway disorders, pleural diseases and thoracic outlet conditions.  Integration with a robust and growing lung transplant program is important while direct involvement would be dependent on the interest and background of the candidate.

The Florida Hospital Cancer Institute is the largest cancer program in the state of Florida with 8 hospitals in Central Florida seeing over 750 thoracic cancer cases each year.  We have a comprehensive multidisciplinary thoracic oncology program led by national experts Dr. Tarek Mekhail and Dr. Mark Socinski. https://www.floridahospitalcancer.com/cancer-programs/lung-cancer-esophageal-cancer

We are establishing an Advanced Lung Disease Institute and developing our medical team with physicians clinically focused on areas of expertise in ILD, lung transplant, COPD, CF, PH and CTEPH. 

We are also making major investments in our lung and heart failure programs, with 20 lung transplants completed in 2017, along with the highest lung transplant rates and the shortest wait times in the country.  We also performed 60 heart transplants and 60 VAD’s in 2017 with over 100 ECMO deployments. 

Given the growth in population in Central Florida, the opportunity to be differentiated in the region with respect to quality and scope,  an exceptional Thoracic Surgical Program should be capable of performing greater than 2500 cases annually. 

This position is employed through our Florida Hospital and would work in association with our team of cardiothoracic surgeons.

Overall dedicated time to the administrative portion of this role will fall between 20-40% depending on the needs of the program. 

Requirements for Thoracic Surgery Director:

  • Fellowship training in Thoracic Surgery.
  • Board certification through ABTS.
  • Ideal candidate would have at least five years of experience post fellowship and demonstrated experience in a leadership role within thoracic surgery and ideally a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical outcomes.

Florida Hospital is looking for a dynamic and energetic thoracic surgeon (who meets the credentialing process for UNOS) with experience post fellowship to join its busy heart and lung transplant program.  This physician would work in conjunction with our three other thoracic transplant surgeons, and would also have an opportunity to grow a cardiovascular surgery program at one of our Orlando area campuses, Florida Hospital Celebration Health. The surgeon will also have the opportunity to work with our currently established cardiology and pulmonology transplant medical/care team to help continue to grow a high quality and highly sustainable heart and lung transplant program.  Strong interest in lung transplant is preferred along with experience in MCS and ECMO.

Transplant Surgeon Requirements:

  • Board certification by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery

  • Experience through residency and/or fellowship with a dedicated focus in thoracic transplant Comprehensive clinical experience in large volume program with advanced cardiac surgery, heart and lung procurement and transplantation along with Ventricular Assist Devices

  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with both private practice and employed models.

There is also potential opportunity for an academic appointment at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine which began in 2009.  You could also work with physicians in training in the Florida Hospital residency programs (Internal Medicine and General Surgery are located at Florida Hospital Orlando).    

Florida Hospital has been actively engaged in clinical research through the Florida Hospital Cardiovascular Institute, the Florida Hospital Transplant Institute, and the Florida Hospital Diabetes Institute.  Recently, Florida Hospital and the Sanford-Burnham Institute for Medical Research (website) announced an innovative partnership to establish the Translational Research Institute with the goal of fostering and supporting research related to the complex interplay of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

We are looking for a dynamic and hardworking urologist to be part of our team at Florida Urology Associates (FUA), based in Orlando. This employment opportunity is for urologists with a primary interest in a traditional practice setting with main responsibilities that include outpatient practice and surgery. There are limited inpatient call / consults as we have formed a urology hospitalist model within the group. FUA is open to subspecialty training and various practice interests.

We are looking for a dynamic and energetic urologist to join our team in an existing practice at Winter Park Memorial Hospital, just minutes north of downtown Orlando.  This physician must have completed an ACGME approved urology residency.  Ideal candidate would have interests in female urology and/or pelvic floor reconstruction.  Fellowship training is ideal but not required.  Winter Park Memorial Hospital has a dedicated DaVinci Si that can accommodate needed surgery times. 

The new physician would have the benefit of a smaller practice atmosphere with autonomy mixed with the advantage of a larger group call coverage model.  The ability to build a subspecialty practice in addition to general urology cases will keep a new physician extremely busy given the volume potential and market need.  We would also look for the new physician to spend clinic time in nearby Oviedo, a new and growing market.

Florida Hospital Medical Group and Florida Hospital for Women in Orlando, Florida is looking for a dynamic and energetic fellowship-trained urogynecologist to lead our integrated program in pelvic health.  This employment opportunity is for a physician who has a passion for leading clinical excellence within a state-of-the-art program along with maintaining a clinical practice in urogynecology.  As the Director of the Integrated Pelvic Health Program, this physician will provide leadership and direction in all mission areas:  outpatient/inpatient clinical practice, teaching, research, and service.  Working with the Florida Hospital for Women CMO, the director will focus on improving, developing and implementing clinical service and clinical quality in a compassionate manner for our patients.  Administrative time will be allotted for this position.  As the position grows, this leader will be involved in education and training of residents and medical students.

Requirements:

  • Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Specialty Board Certification in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery

  • Five or more years of leadership experience
