Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Surgery, Breast

Our Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (FHCI) is looking for a dynamic, charismatic, and experienced surgeon to lead our breast surgery program.  The Breast Surgical Director is responsible for the development and deployment of tumor specific pathways and standards of care. This position will also provide leadership to achieve clinical quality improvement outcomes, as well as to achieve efficiency of care improvement outcomes. 

This is a predominately clinical opportunity with the physician based in the Center for Specialized Surgery (website).  This employed group consists of 15 physicians with various locations around our hospital system in Orlando.  The Center for Specialized Surgery is also our academic faculty group for our General Surgery residency, led through Dr. Steve Eubanks, Executive Director of Academic Surgery, and Dr. Scott Bloom, Program Director of Florida Hospital General Surgery Residency. 

The Surgical Director will collaborate with academia, industry and our community surgeons to advance innovation and will provide leadership to advance patient experience outcomes. The position is based in Orlando, Florida at our 1100 bed tertiary facility, and is also part of our Cancer Institute, with locations across a regional network of eight hospitals. 

Our FHCI Vision:  National recognition as a Cancer Institute that provides patients access to value-based, personalized care through high specialized, comprehensive, and innovative destination programs. Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Surgery, Colon and Rectal

This is an excellent opportunity for a Board Eligible or Board Certified Colorectal Surgeon to join the Florida Hospital Medical Group Center for Colon & Rectal Surgery team; located in the heart of downtown Orlando. This is an opportunity to work alongside highly-skilled surgical specialists who work with a multidisciplinary team of professionals dedicated to individual needs.  Our fellowship-trained and board-certified surgeons apply their exceptional diagnostic skills and advanced surgical experience to treat patients with a broad range of colon and rectal diseases.  Our unique fellowship program draws highly accomplished physicians who seek to work with and learn from our specialists. 

In addition to patient care, all the physicians are actively involved in surgical innovation.  Most notably, the group is the sole pioneer of Transanal Minimally Invasive Surgery (TAMIS) and Robotic Transanal Surgery (RTS)-techniques which have now been adopted worldwide.  Research is also a strong focus of The Center, in 2016 there were 35 Peer-Reviewed publications, 3 published book chapters and 5 current IRB approved research projects.

Florida Hospital Medical Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced, board-certified Acute Care General Surgeon to join a busy, robust practice in Orlando, FL.  This opportunity would be part of the “Center for Specialized Surgery” which serves the greater Central Florida area.  Candidate’s primary location would be Florida Hospital South, our large tertiary facility, located in Orlando.  The physician would have ability to provide general surgery coverage in a high acuity setting (not a Level 1 trauma center), and work within a highly qualified team of surgical subspecialists in a fast-paced environment. 

This opportunity would include the ability to teach with Florida Hospital’s General Surgery Residency Program.  Three years’ experience is preferred, but not required. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Location: Winter Garden, FL - Specialty: Surgery, General

Florida Hospital Medical Group is looking for a dynamic and experienced, board-certified General Surgeon to join our team as part of our West Orange strategy. Responsibilities will include call coverage at Florida Hospital Apopka (will be newly built location in 2017) and also at Florida Hospital Winter Garden. In addition, physician will help grow practice sites at both locations. Depending on experience and leadership ability, new physician could help to develop programs throughout the West Orange market. Candidate will be clinically focused and must actively practice all aspects of general surgery. Three years' experience is preferred, but not required. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Physician will perform surgeries in the hospital and the newly built outpatient surgery center.

This practice is part of the "Center for Specialized Surgery" which serves several campuses, including: Florida Hospital Orlando, Florida Hospital East, Florida Hospital Winter Park, and Florida Hospital Winter Garden. Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Surgery, Transplant: Thoracic

Florida Hospital is looking for a dynamic and energetic thoracic surgeon (who meets the credentialing process for UNOS) with experience post fellowship to join its busy heart and lung transplant program.  This physician would work in conjunction with our three other thoracic transplant surgeons, and would also have an opportunity to grow a cardiovascular surgery program at one of our Orlando area campuses, Florida Hospital Celebration Health. The surgeon will also have the opportunity to work with our currently established cardiology and pulmonology transplant medical/care team to help continue to grow a high quality and highly sustainable heart and lung transplant program.  Strong interest in lung transplant is preferred along with experience in MCS and ECMO.

Transplant Surgeon Requirements:

  • Board certification by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery

  • Experience through residency and/or fellowship with a dedicated focus in thoracic transplant Comprehensive clinical experience in large volume program with advanced cardiac surgery, heart and lung procurement and transplantation along with Ventricular Assist Devices

  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with both private practice and employed models.

There is also potential opportunity for an academic appointment at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine which began in 2009.  You could also work with physicians in training in the Florida Hospital residency programs (Internal Medicine and General Surgery are located at Florida Hospital Orlando).    

Florida Hospital has been actively engaged in clinical research through the Florida Hospital Cardiovascular Institute, the Florida Hospital Transplant Institute, and the Florida Hospital Diabetes Institute.  Recently, Florida Hospital and the Sanford-Burnham Institute for Medical Research (website) announced an innovative partnership to establish the Translational Research Institute with the goal of fostering and supporting research related to the complex interplay of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.  

Depending on your background and interests, you could work in conjunction with our Nicholson Center.  The Nicholson Center is a system-wide strategy with focus on global surgical training and education.  Based at Celebration Health, it is a free standing, 25,000 square foot facility with surgical stations, operating rooms, multi-media conference center and office space.   Nicholson involves a multi-specialty DaVinci robotics training lab, a simulation and robotics training center, international conferences and symposia, and research alliances.

We are looking for a dynamic and hardworking urologist to be part of our team at Florida Urology Associates (FUA), based in Orlando. This employment opportunity is for urologists with a primary interest in a traditional practice setting with main responsibilities that include outpatient practice and surgery. There are limited inpatient call / consults as we have formed a urology hospitalist model within the group. FUA is open to subspecialty training and various practice interests.

Florida Hospital Medical Group and Florida Hospital for Women in Orlando, Florida is looking for a dynamic and energetic fellowship-trained urogynecologist to lead our integrated program in pelvic health.  This employment opportunity is for a physician who has a passion for leading clinical excellence within a state-of-the-art program along with maintaining a clinical practice in urogynecology.  As the Director of the Integrated Pelvic Health Program, this physician will provide leadership and direction in all mission areas:  outpatient/inpatient clinical practice, teaching, research, and service.  Working with the Florida Hospital for Women CMO, the director will focus on improving, developing and implementing clinical service and clinical quality in a compassionate manner for our patients.  Administrative time will be allotted for this position.  As the position grows, this leader will be involved in education and training of residents and medical students.
