Our Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (FHCI) is looking for a dynamic, charismatic, and experienced oncologist to lead our GI Medical Oncology Program.  The GI Oncology Medical Director is responsible for the development and deployment of tumor specific pathways and standards of care as well as the clinical/translational research agenda.  This position will also provide leadership to achieve clinical quality improvement outcomes, as well as to achieve efficiency of care improvement outcomes.  Our Florida Hospital Cancer Institute in the Central Florida area sees over 1,329 newly diagnosed GI cancer cases each year. 

The Medical Director will collaborate with academia, industry and physicians to advance innovation through clinical trials and will provide leadership to advance patient experience outcomes. The position is based at Florida Hospital Orlando and is part of our Cancer Institute, with locations across a regional network of 8 hospitals. 

This position will have dedicated administrative time, with a portion of clinical work as well.  This practice is a part of Florida Hospital Medical Group (FHMG) (website). FHMG is a sister organization of Florida Hospital which employs 500+ physicians in 50+ specialties. Florida Hospital Medical Group is looking for fellowship trained hematology/oncology specialists to join Cancer Institute of Florida (website). The ideal candidates will have experience in both the inpatient and outpatient settings seeing a variety of oncology patients.   A primary focus and experience with breast oncology is preferred for one of the positions.  Rotation of call would include both inpatient and outpatient in equal share with the other physicians. 

Requirements of the position include:

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification/eligibility in Hematology and Medical Oncology
  • 3-5 years practice experience post fellowship is preferred
  • Focus and interest in breast cancer is ideal but group is open to other subspecialty interests (such as prostate or melanoma)

Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Hospice and Palliative Medicine

Florida Hospital is seeking an Inpatient Hospice Physician to oversee the medical components of the Hospice plan of care for each patient within a new, 14 bed inpatient unit at Florida Hospital Orlando. This physician and the other members of the interdisciplinary team will collaborate with the patient’s attending physician communicating the patient’s wishes and status. 

Hospice of the Comforter is the only non-profit, local experts in compassionate, end-of-life care, serving Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties since 1990.  Our team provides individualized care and support to patients and families 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Because we are owned by Florida Hospital, you have the full backing of our world-renowned hospital system.

Requirements for this position:

  • MD or DO
  • Ability to receive an unrestricted Florida Medical License
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, or ABMS specialty certification
  • Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Care or Hospice Medical Director (if Board Eligible, certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire date)

Florida Hospital Graduate Medical Education Department is seeking a dynamic program director to lead our Internal Medicine Residency Program established in 2009.  The current, founding program director will be transitioning to senior program faculty member in 2019.

The Internal Medicine Residency contains 14 positions per year with 2 designated positions concentrated towards a primary care track.  The Internal Medicine Residency is fully ACGME accredited.  The program is free-standing, but is affiliated with Florida State University College of Medicine and Loma Linda University College of Medicine.  The current core program faculty consists of 9 fulltime FTEs, which includes 2 subspecialists. 

Qualified candidates will possess a significant background in clinical care, clinical teaching and program administration.  Research experience with a published record is mandatory.  Candidates must possess a very strong commitment to graduate medical education.  Candidates may be generalists or subspecialists but must be able to provide skillful teaching and clinical care in general internal medicine wards and clinics. 

The position will be available in 2019 with responsibilities for Program Directorship to begin in July, 2019 or within 6 months thereafter.

Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares, FL is seeking a dynamic and energetic, board certified Internal Medicine physician to join an existing practice in Lake County.

Our goal is to complement and expand upon Florida Hospital Medical Group's Primary Care physician base in the Lake County area. You would have the opportunity to focus on outpatient care only or incorporate inpatient care if desired. You will also collaborate with the system's highly-regarded specialists to maintain a preeminent Primary Care service for the Florida Hospital Waterman community.

As the physician advisor, the Executive Medical Director of Revenue Cycle educates, informs, and advises members of the Case Management, Revenue Cycle, Patient Financial Services, Patient Access, AHS Managed Care departments and applicable Medical Staff of specific updates, statistical trending and/or changes related to denial prevention measures for our contracted managed care payers.  The Medical Director is responsible for providing physician review of utilization, claims management, and quality assurance related to inpatient care, outpatient care/observation stays and referral services.  This position supports the CMO capacities at the facilities within the Central Florida Division – South by ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient healthcare services throughout the continuum of care for the membership served by contracted medical group provider networks.

Florida Hospital Neuroscience Institute and Florida Hospital Medical Group are seeking general neurologists and neurology subspecialty leaders for our expanding program in Central Florida.  We are growing into one comprehensive team that will help to grow outpatient practices as well as provide limited inpatient coverage among our eight-hospital system in Orlando.  New physicians would join with our existing team of neurologists to provide general neurology care and/or subspecialty care.

Florida Hospital is continuing to grow its Neuroscience Institute, with a new outpatient clinic facility opening in 2019. We are planning for a new Neuro Critical Care Fellowship with an anticipated launch in 2019.  The ideal candidates would also be able to lead our efforts in neurology research, care analytics, quality and outcomes. Our Neuroscience Institute at Florida Hospital Orlando consists of 120 dedicated neurology beds which includes 40 neuro-intensive care units, 8 dedicated neurosurgical OR suites with an intraoperative 3T MRI and 64 slice CT, FDG-PET, SPECT, and MEG lab.  

Florida Hospital has been awarded the highest designation, a Level 4 Epilepsy Center, by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC).  Our epilepsy center provides most advanced epilepsy care including full spectrum of neurodiagnostic monitoring, ketogenic diet, stereo-EEG using robotic system (ROSA) and Laser interstitial thermal ablation (LITT).  Our program performs more epilepsy surgeries annually than anywhere else in Florida. 

Florida Hospital also has an advanced comprehensive stroke center providing endovascular procedures 24/7. Our neurosurgery program performed more craniotomy and spine surgery than any other hospitals in Florida. Our minimally invasive brain surgery program is one of the best in the state and draws patients nationally and internationally.
