Location: Winter Park, FL - Specialty: Geriatric Medicine

Florida Hospital Graduate Medical Education is looking for a dynamic geriatrician to join the faculty of the Geriatric Fellowship program at Winter Park Memorial Hospital. The Centre for Aging and Wellness serves a widespread geriatric population throughout a four county region. This physician will focus a majority of time in both outpatient and inpatient clinical capacities in conjunction with our practice Medical Director, Program Director and fellows that are participating in the Geriatric Fellowship program, established in 1998.

This position would provide the opportunity to supervise and interact with fellows, medical students, as well as family and internal medicine residents. Supporting resources include social workers, psychologists, clinical care coordinators, nutritionists, medical wellness, integrated medicine, and clinics that focus on dementia and Alzheimers disease.. Select area nursing homes and assisted living facilities alike also benefit from the program's faculty physicians and fellows. With 25,000 seniors, age 65+ residing in a 5-mile radius of the practice, the provider would have access to an abundant platform of patients.

The physician's duties will include clinical teaching in an inpatient, outpatient, nursing home and home visit setting. A strong emphasis will be placed on clinical teaching skills focused on preventative and evidence based medicine. Ideal candidate would have experience in academic medicine, geriatric medicine, strong communication skills, and fit within the mission and vision of Florida Hospital.

Board Certification in Family or Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine (AOA or ABMS) is required.

Our Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (FHCI) is looking for a dynamic, charismatic, and experienced oncologist to lead our Breast Medical Oncology Program.  The Breast Oncology Medical Director is responsible for the development and deployment of tumor specific pathways and standards of care as well as the clinical/translational research agenda.  This position will also provide leadership to achieve clinical quality improvement outcomes, as well as to achieve efficiency of care improvement outcomes.  Our Florida Hospital Cancer Institute in the Central Florida area sees over 1000 newly diagnosed breast cancer cases each year. 

The Medical Director will collaborate with academia, industry and physicians to advance innovation through clinical trials and will provide leadership to advance patient experience outcomes. The position is based in Orlando, Florida and is part of our Cancer Institute, with locations across a regional network of 8 hospitals. 

A majority of this position is administrative time, with a portion of clinical work as well.  This practice is a part of Florida Hospital Medical Group (FHMG) (website). Florida Hospital Medical Group is looking for a fellowship trained hematology/oncology specialist to join Cancer Institute of Florida’s (website) practice at Florida Hospital Winter Garden and Florida Hospital Apopka. The ideal candidate will have experience in both the inpatient and outpatient settings seeing a variety of oncology patients.   Rotation of call would include both inpatient and outpatient in equal share with the other physicians.

The Internal Medicine Residency contains 14 positions per year with 2 designated positions concentrated towards a primary care track.  The Internal Medicine Residency is fully ACGME accredited.  The program is free-standing, but is affiliated with Florida State University College of Medicine and Loma Linda University College of Medicine.  The current core program faculty consists of 9 fulltime FTEs, which includes 2 subspecialists. 

Qualified candidates will possess a significant background in clinical care and clinical teaching.  Research experience with a published record is preferred.  Candidates may be generalists or subspecialists but must be able to provide skillful teaching and clinical care in general internal medicine wards and clinics.  The physician’s duties will include clinical teaching in an outpatient and inpatient setting as well as seeing private patients and developing research projects in conjunction with residents and other faculty.  Possession of a Florida medical license preferred. 

The position will be available beginning July 2018.

Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares, FL is seeking a dynamic and energetic, board certified Internal Medicine physician to join an existing practice in Lake County.

Our goal is to complement and expand upon Florida Hospital Medical Group's Primary Care physician base in the Lake County area. You would have the opportunity to focus on outpatient care only or incorporate inpatient care if desired. Our practice consists of three MFM physicians, physician geneticist, and a perinatal NP. We are owned by Florida Hospital Medical Group which employs 500+ physicians in 50+ specialties. Primary location is Florida Hospital Orlando, with a satellite office in Celebration, Florida.

Practice is 100% consultative with ultrasound interpretations, standard MFM procedures and pregnancy and pre-pregnancy consults in inpatient and outpatient settings. No in-house night call or deliveries. The established OB hospitalist group provides in-house 24/7 coverage. Some phone consultations will occur at night on a rotating call basis with the members of the group. This job offers a very unique structure to allow for work/life balance in the beautiful and growing community of Orlando, Florida. 

Deliveries within the Florida Hospital Orlando network exceed 12,000 annually, which gives us a large and stable referral base. There is an extensive, well-developed NICU network including 3 Level II and one Level III NICU to support these deliveries. Our center employs over 100 pediatric subspecialists for collaboration of care. Our hospital runs a Coordinated Care for Kids program to connect moms-to-be with the right specialists in MFM, OB, neonatology and the pediatric subspecialty groups. Florida Hospital is continuing to grow its Neuroscience Institute, with a new outpatient clinic facility opening in 2019. We are planning for a new Neuro Critical Care Fellowship with an anticipated launch in 2019.  The ideal candidates would also be able to lead our efforts in neurology research, care analytics, quality and outcomes. Our Neuroscience Institute at Florida Hospital Orlando consists of 120 dedicated neurology beds which includes 40 neuro-intensive care units, 8 dedicated neurosurgical OR suites with an intraoperative 3T MRI and 64 slice CT, FDG-PET, SPECT, and MEG lab.  

Florida Hospital has been awarded the highest designation, a Level 4 Epilepsy Center, by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC).  Our epilepsy center provides most advanced epilepsy care including full spectrum of neurodiagnostic monitoring, ketogenic diet, stereo-EEG using robotic system (ROSA) and Laser interstitial thermal ablation (LITT).  Our program performs more epilepsy surgeries annually than anywhere else in Florida. 

Florida Hospital also has an advanced comprehensive stroke center providing endovascular procedures 24/7. Our neurosurgery program performed more craniotomy and spine surgery than any other hospitals in Florida. Our minimally invasive brain surgery program is one of the best in the state and draws patients nationally and internationally.
