General Summary:
The PA or ARNP under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:
Schedule is very flexible working 7 on 7 off.  
Example: Week 1 in the hospital 7am to 7pm.  Week 2- off.  Week 3 the APP will be taking night call- 7pm to 7am for one week but will only be taking phone call coverage from the comfort of home, not required to come into the hospital overnight.  Week 4 -Off.  Repeat..
  • Performs physical examinations of patients; evaluation and treatment of urologic conditions in the hospital setting
  • Procedures performed/providing assistance with but not limited to: catheters, injections, cystoscopies
  • Medical management of the following conditions but not limited to: hematuria, kidney stones, urologic oncology, most all acute urologic conditions, post-operative follow ups…
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Displays a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
  • During the day there is a Physician Uro-Hospitalist on service with the NP or PA
Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.
  • Strong communication skills
Required Education/Experience:
  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Studies
  • At least 1 year of experience as a PA-C or ARNP in Urology is required
Preferred Education/Experience:
  • Urology hospital experience preferred as an NP or PA
Licensure, Certification, and Registration:
  • Current, valid Florida PA or ARNP license
  • Certification by NCCPA, ANCC or other nationally recognized certification organization
  • BLS & ACLS
Required Education/Experience:
  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Studies
  • At least 1 year of experience as a PA-C or ARNP in Urology is required
