General Summary:
The PA, under the supervision of the Physician who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:
  • Performs physical examinations of patients, evaluation and treatment of injuries or illnesses for pediatric through geriatric patients in the clinic and hospital setting
  • Surgical first assist in OR, Rounding in the hospital
  • Performing scope related procedures, incision and drainage, suturing
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician, supervisor and staff as necessary to provide quality care to patients and support to staff
  • Displays a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, employees, patients, and the public
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Surgical first assist experience preferred
  • Experience in a surgical practice or ENT preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate
Required Education/Experience:
  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies
  • Current, valid Florida PA license; certification by NCCPA
Preferred Education/Experience:
  • Minimum one year clinical practice experience with emphasis in ENT and/or Head & Neck surgery
  • Robotics Experience preferred
