Florida Hospital Medical Group is looking for a dynamic and energetic invasive or noninvasive cardiologist to join our team in the Florida Heart Group practice (website).  This is part of our continued growth strategy into the West Orange markets of Orlando.  Responsibilities will include hospital call coverage at Florida Hospital Apopka (will be newly built hospital location in late 2017 with 120 beds) and also at Florida Hospital Winter Garden.  In addition, the new physician will help grow the practice site at Florida Hospital Apopka, with a full range of office-based cardiology services.  Practice call will be 1:3. Florida Hospital Apopka will also have two new dedicated cath labs with state-of-the-art equipment.

This position is linked with our Florida Hospital Cardiovascular Institute (FHCVI).  The Cardiovascular Institute is one of the busiest centers of its kind in the nation. We are a leading provider of cardiovascular and thoracic services among Medicare patients with national rankings that include: #1 in Cardiology volume, #1 in Vascular Surgery volume, #5 in Thoracic Surgery volume and #8 in Open Heart Surgery volume. The FHCVI is centered in a tertiary facility known as Florida Hospital Orlando with our Ginsburg Tower. This 15-story sanctuary of healing offers patients a full range of comprehensive heart and vascular care, including 12 hybrid operating rooms housing electrophysiology, vascular and invasive cardiology.  

Requirements for the position:  Board Certification in Internal Medicine with subspecialty board certification in Cardiovascular Disease.  3-5 years practice building experience is preferred.

The West Orange Division of Florida Hospital includes the newly opened Florida Hospital Winter Garden, and Florida Hospital Apopka.  Florida Hospital Apopka's new facility is scheduled to open in late 2017.  Florida Hospital Winter Garden is a state-of-the-art emergency facility featuring board-certified physicians trained in the care of both adults and children. The 97,415-square-foot, three-story facility opened in February 2016 across from Winter Garden Village at Fowler Groves. It is Florida Hospital’s ninth campus in Central Florida.
