Florida Heart Group (website) and Florida Hospital Medical Group are looking for a dynamic and energetic cardiology leader to expand into a new satellite clinic at Florida Hospital East Orlando (website).This is a clinical and practice leadership position to help grow a new market in East Orlando in association with two other physicians. As the Medical Director of the Cardiology Services at Florida Hospital East Orlando, the first initiative will be to work with our core cardiologists at East Orlando on growth strategies, quality metrics, outcomes, community education and marketing, and other patient experience initiatives. Approximate administrative time is 10 hours/week.

Responsibilities will also include call coverage at the East Orlando hospital facility in rotation with other community cardiology members.

The Florida Hospital Cardiovascular Institute is one of the busiest centers of its kind in the nation. We are a leading provider of cardiovascular and thoracic services among Medicare patients with national rankings that include: #1 in Cardiology volume, #1 in Vascular Surgery volume, #5 in Thoracic Surgery volume and #8 in Open Heart Surgery volume. The FH CVI is centered in a tertiary facility known as Florida Hospital Orlando with a newly opened Ginsburg Tower. This 15-story sanctuary of healing offers patients a full range of comprehensive heart and vascular care, including 12 hybrid operating rooms housing electrophysiology, vascular and invasive cardiology.

Requirements for the position: Board Certification in Internal Medicine with subspecialty board certification in Cardiovascular Disease. At least five years practice experience with some leadership track record is also preferred. High caliber, quality focused, innovative physicians should apply. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Hospital Description

Florida Hospital East Orlando, a 293-bed full service community hospital became part of the Adventist Health System in 1991. We are proud to serve approximately 180,000 patients annually, which include more than 16,700 inpatients and 79,330 outpatients at Florida Hospital East Orlando. In addition, our emergency visits totaled 114,747 in 2015.

As a part of one of the fastest growing communities in Central Florida, our hospital caters to the east Orange County population. This market consists of the popular Waterford Lakes, Avalon Park, Lake Nona and University of Central Florida areas. As our community continues to broaden, so does Florida Hospital East Orlando with our recent 200,000 square foot $80 million expansion project. In addition, the new five story, inpatient tower has the future capacity for 80 beds (with 24 beds designated for ICU) in two shelled floors. It also has expanded Radiology and Cardiopulmonary departments, which include plans for a second cath lab.

Florida Hospital East Orlando is the primary campus for approximately 275 physicians who can utilize our four new inpatient surgical suites as well as our new technologically advanced 13,500 square foot Surgery Center. Our specialized services include: Cardiovascular Institute, Cancer Institute, Orthopaedic Institute, Respiratory Care, Center for Family Care, Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging, Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, Men's and Women's Health Programs, Women's Health Pavilion, Hospice Care, Seizure Monitoring, Infertility Services, Telemedicine Program, Digestive Health Services, Primary Stroke Center, Sleep Disorders Center and a state of the art Surgery Center.
